Dr. Swarna Balasubramaniam is board certified in both colorectal and general surgery.  She is a graduate of Wellesley College and of the Mayo Medical School in Rochester MN.  She trained in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and obtained fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.

Dr. Balasubramaniam is an experienced surgeon who has previously practiced in Los Angeles, New York City and at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston.  She specializes in the treatment of diseases of the small intestine, colon, rectum and anus. Conditions treated include hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, perianal abscesses, anal fissures, anal condyloma, constipation, rectal prolapse, fecal incontinence, diverticulitis, colon and rectal cancer.
